Arai) profile
By coincidence, listening to The Beatles, became into music. After touching a guitar
for the first time as a 16 years old, in high school, got in to heavy metal/ hard rock,
and in the University years, transfered into fusion~jazz. While being a member of
various bands, started writing original songs and track production at the same time.
In 1999, along with Kaori Okano, he formed transluv.
In 2000, on Groove magazine (Japan), their activities were captured and their
interview as well as the CD with their track caused a commotion and started mail-
ordering their indie version CD. Also, they started an acoustic style live performance
every month and performed with Jazztronik. In August, 2004, they released their
debut album, undercover.
From a cross section, they received a high praise and the next year, they stopped
their activities. At the same time, started becoming active as a solo artist. After that,
produced, programmed, arranged and wrote songs for the following artists such as
Maki Nomiya, LISA,Olivia Ong, Ryohei, moumoon, Cover Lover Project. Also, as a
guitarist, he became active in alot of works as well as live gigs.
In 2008, as 18degrees., released his 1st solo album, Tokyo Boy, Tokyo Girl.
Also, in Fall the same year, he released his 2nd album, Time Travel: House Cover of
Eternal Songs from BMG Japan and was highly praised.
While producing songs for Kana Nishino, a popular singer who is associated with
Sony Music, did a remix for popular group, Max, he is quite active and in spring
2010, set to release his 3rd album.

he has been active extensively, performing in numerous artist's
works as well as playing live. And in 2008, as eighteen degrees,
he is finally finished producing his debut album and set to release
it.

偶然聴いた"THE BEATLES"を聞き音楽に目覚める。
16歳で初めてギターに触れて以降、高校時代はHM/HR、
大学時代はFUSION〜JAZZに転倒。複数のバンドを掛け持ちしつつ、
オリジナル楽曲、トラック制作も並行して行うようになる。
1999年"岡野香織"とのユニット"transluv"結成。2000年には"GROOVE"誌上で、
その活動を取り上げられ、インタビュー及びバインドされたCDが反響を呼び、
自主制作版のメール・オーダーを開始。またアコースティック・スタイル
のマンスリー・ライヴも開始し、"JAZZTRONIK"等との共演を果たす。2004年8月入りでデ
ビュー・アルバム"undercover"をリリース。
各方面より高い評価を得つつも、翌年、活動停止。同時にソロとして活動開始する。以降、
野宮真貴,LISA,Olivia Ong,Ryohei,moumoon,CoverLoverProject等へのプロデュース、プログラミ
ング、アレンジ、楽曲提供等で参加。またギタリストとしても、数多くの作品及びライヴ
等、幅広く活動している。
2008年、遂に"18degrees."名義の自身初となるソロ・アルバム「Tokyo Boy,Tokyo
Girl」を完成。また、同年秋、BMG JAPANより発売された、2ndアルバム「Time Travel:
House Cover Of Eternal Songs」も、非常に好評を得ている。
SONY MUSIC所属の人気シンガー西野カナの楽曲プロデュース、MAX等のREMIXも手がけ、
ますます精力的に活動を行う中、2010年春に、3rdアルバムをリリース予定。 |
